OAK is very junior for clear reasons. (Super expensive etc etc) It's great for a new hire who wants OAK because it is easy to hold right off the bat. (This is assuming of course you get the airbus). It is great on reserve if you live near the airport because you will only get called if a plane breaks down or if someone calls in sick. Schedules are not so good if you choose to fly the line with the top 2 guys getting all the good stuff. There is a lot of movement in OAK on the FO side, most are holding out for another base so you should expect to move up pretty quickly as a new hire. There is also a rumor about the possible addition of 1 plane in 2018 which should improve flying schedules for more junior ppl at the base but probably increasing the chance of getting called on reserve.
