Supposedly each of the majors has around 6000 qualified applicants. You have to assume that most of those 6000 have applied to all of the majors and big freighters. So if you divvy them up among those 6 carriers plus Spirit, Alaska, Hawaiian, and a few others -- not to mention corporate operators who are finally starting to open the pocket book to retain their talent... the next few years are gonna be interesting.

There are still thousands of pilots at various regionals that would love to come to JetBlue even if it's half the pay of the majors. The shortage will happen at the regional level. The majors will then start flying their own regional flying which in five or so years down the road might hit JB, Spirit, Frontier, etc....
