A letter was just put out that indicated that USAirways pilots could write a letter to recommend a candidate that has submitted his/her application online. The USAirways pilot should give this letter to his Chief Pilot for processing. The recommendation "does not guarantee an interview" but will place value when comparing attributes and qualifications. It also says that the USAirways pilot should be able to speak to the applicant's flying abilities or character.
