First, your right. FedEx is not a passenger airline. So according to your logic, no need for screening workers (to include pilots), FBI background checks, etc.
I think you are taking my comment a little too personally! Sorry for ruffling your feathers while you are pontificating on the efficacy of TSA screening. I didn't realize you don't know what the T stands for, or realize that it encompass all forms of "transportation". I'm also sorry you do not realize the reach of the TSA. So true to my word, I will help educate you. TSA screening rules apply to the cargo side as well. So yes, there is TSA screening for cargo pilots. They usually consider (after checking the process to ensure compliance with all applicable rules) the corporate screening as "equivalent", if not its off to the pax side before going to work.
I think the TSA is under the impression that a fully loaded cargo B777 can do equivalent damage to the country as one with pax. Calloway intended to crash the DC-10 into the sort facility...that seems similar to what your talking about. Anyway, cargo planes are completely unrelated to hijacking an airplanes to use as a weapon.
