He defends it because they know who he is and he's trying to climb the OSC ladder. Advancement at OSC is not based on merit but rather the ability to brown nose. Its comical as the instructors are always complaining to the union about work rules and pay but when it comes time to make a formal request then clam up.



None of the instructors want to give up that cushy job and actually work and thats their choice but its funny he comments on life at jetblue when he sits in an ivory tower on the periphery.
