Maybe MCO is a happier base, but the FOs I fly with want contract improvements, but also say that it's a good place to work. That's exactly how I feel as well.
2. I flew the line for a year on reserve here prior to going into training, so it isn't as if I never was in the daily operation.
3. Read my posts. I haven't bloviated on the merits of culture. I've countered the propaganda you guys are spouting. I have no problem discussing the areas that need improvement. I DO have a problem with negativity, particularly when it is written in propaganda format.
1. I fly more than most instructors? Your requirement is 4 legs per month which translates to two turns, no overnights. Cherry picking to fly with a pilot you are good friends with is excellent perspective.
2. You're flying the line for 1 whole year while on reserve truly compares to the grind of line flying at jetblue airways?
3. We've all read your posts and are acutely aware of the tone and content.
Listen, Im sure your a nice guy but to be clear your experience and that of a line pilot are dissimilar. Again, you are an instructor who is avoiding returning to the line. You know it and I know it and while that is your choice you DO NOT have an accurate picture of life at this airline. Like most of the instructors you were hired, applied to OSC and then became an expert on the culture and the bus. Volunteer with standards on special projects and sing the praises of the airline. ITs part of the deal at OSC otherwise you are pushed out. You play the game well and again thats your prerogative. The scenario plays out year after year.
The complaint most line pilots have is when those who don't know speak as if they do. Tell us what is like at OSC, not the rest. You are intentionally insulated lacking experience and perspective.
