737 - If where you are flying to is more important than being comfortable while you get there. A/C is a POS but WAY better variety of flying and typically longer legs.
I'll probably get roasted for this, but most of the folks I hear complaining about the 737 never even flew it, or at least not in its current iteration. The guppy is just fine, it does the job a vast majority of the time and it isn't that uncomfortable. Is it an Airbus? No way, but it's not like you're on a slave ship. This coming from a guy who's done 7 hour legs on it and is 6'4. I'll be more than happy to fly it again some day in the other seat.
You're spot on about the variety of flying on it. Especially out of EWR.
