I'm currently trying to get my First Class and I got a letter from the FAA stating I need to get some things done and if not they will deny my physical.

Through the VA I'm rated for PTSD and sleep apnea. The FAA sent me guidelines for which the psychiatrist and psychologist needs to report me on. The letter also states that they highly recommend a psychiatrist that specializes in aeronautical or flight psychiatry. I live in small town Missouri and have no other "insurance" other than the VA.

I asked the VA if they would happen to have a psychiatrist that specializes in flight med, obviously no. Also, I got a print out of my compliance and it's below what the FAA wants. The report I got from a VA psychiatrist probably isn't what the FAA wants to see.

At this point I feel I just need to give the FAA what I have and see what they say. My 90 days is up at the end of April.

Has anyone had a referral from the VA to see a specialist that the FAA wants me to see and will the FAA give me time to boost up my compliance with the CPAP?
