I don't want to sound like a Monday morning QB, but I was surprise the CA landed and taxiing to the gate, not sure that would have made a difference, but I would have considered stopping on the taxiway to get medical treatment started immediately. But who knows, maybe that was the fastest way to get the paramedics to him.

I've had the unfortunate experience of making a medical emergency landing in ABQ. Tracon told us our gate, and tower cleared us to the gate before landing. Every plane on the airport stopped, and going directly into the gate was much faster than setting up air stairs. The gates are just off the runway. 30 second taxi.
