Default Any chance?

I've been reading through this thread for a while, trying to get a feel for how things are with Allegiant and how pilots are viewing its future. The thread is pretty long and it seems like a lot has happened over the past couple of years. I apologize if my questions repeat some that may have been asked previously. I may have missed similar questions in the thread or I'm just looking for the most current info.

I'm a retired AF pilot, 3500 hrs in 135s and T-1s. Been out of the cockpit for about 3 yrs while I've been a sim IP. Im contemplating leaving that world and returning to the cockpit. I'm lacking in currency/recency (other than in the sim and some GA flying) so I figured the regionals would be where I'm headed. But I was wondering about Allegiant. Would I stand a chance or are there just too many more current applicants in the mix? Thoughts?

Also, I'm currently living in Tampa. I have no interest in moving. But there are a number of Allegiant locations relatively close, within easy driving distance (PIE, PGD, SFB). Wondering where those go in terms of new hire assignments and any info anyone has on those locations.

Thanks in advance.
