This flight (U.S. to Mexico) with a foreign carrier shouldn't be the 7th freedom?
Because from what I understand the flight never originated or ended at the carrier (TUI) country.

That was just a example, I'm still trying to understand the regulations concern about sub-leasing a foreign aircraft/crew. Your point about being FAA certified was interesting, however aren't the pilots only EASA licensed?
