As someone who prefers digital readouts, I was going to go for the Casio PRW-3100T. It's good for dressy events and is digital at the same time.

It has a nice metal bracelet, solar charging, atomic clock updates, and built in sensors like temperature, altimeter, barometer and compass. The compass is very accurate it seems.

On the other hand, there's the Samsung Gear S3 that has the ability to change faces, so if I'm flying at night, it would be nice to be able to have a red display to preserve night vision while displaying important information like Zulu time, have the ability to send an SOS message to contacts with GPS location and tracking. It's also a multi-function watch. If I'm attending a fancy social event, I can change the watch face.

The problem with the smartwatch is that it needs charging, roughly every two days.

Pro and cons.

What would you go with?

As an aside, the problem I have with the various timers that I have come across, the ones that are cockpit mountable using a suction cup or what have you, don't give you a break down of total time vs. leg time, akin to lap time. My phone is actually a better tool for that function.
