Back in 2013 I was trying hard to get out of the regionals and went to a Vets in Blue at JB HQ in Queens. I assume it was HQ anyway. Sat through the presentation given mostly by Bonnie and afterward we were invited to gather around the 7 or so recruiters there to hand off your resumes and get a word in.

I ended up in the gaggle around Bonnie. Now my resume was just average Joe but was at least significantly above all mins posted. Had a bit of volunteer work on there as well. When I made it up for my chance, she gave my resume the briefest of glances, maybe 5 seconds? Very short nonetheless. Handed it right back and let it go before I even got my hands on it and it dropped to the floor. I went to pick it up as she was saying she recommended more volunteer work and went on to the next guy.

That might have been true for what they were looking for but it really rubbed me the wrong way after taking time off and spending my own money for a hotel and to get to NY. She's one of those people you remember in not such a good way. Anyway, ended up getting hired at Spirit and am now left seat so it all worked out fine. Just wanted to say that I still remember that like it was yesterday. Made you feel pretty small.
