Well there is your problem...dont carry grounds. Carry whole beans and use a burr grinder in flight to get the freshest grind possible.

Flew with a Capt who did just that. Carried his own drip coffee maker and a small cooler for French vanilla and half and half. His viewpoint was "Screw it. I live half my life on the road so I'm not going to forgo my own comforts."
It helped that the company we worked for bought tickets to and from the job. He traveled with four bags and would always threaten travel that he was going to check all four bags if they didn't book him first class. Zero sh!ts given....
