Self entitled snowflake? The guy paid for his seat. Of course he's entitled, as any paying passenger would be. This is 100% on United and they deserve the PR nightmare that's about to happen. If you can't get any volunteers for $800, raise the Price until you do.

You see, there's a fine print when you buy any airline ticket on any carrier that you may get involuntarily bumped and compensated for it. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to those terms.
The #resist chicken-littles out there make it sound like a few thugs just came onboard, smashed the guy's face and then dragged him off the plane when all he simply said was no. I'm pretty sure that United CSA's explained to him the situation and then subsequently ops supervisor as well. But no one filmed that part...
Could it have been handled better? I think so... perhaps getting involuntary bumps not board in the first place? But once told you are being involuntarily bumped for compensation in accordance with terms and conditions of your ticket, and then throwing a tantrum over it delaying a flight for hours and having to get dragged off the plane.... nope, no sympathy whatsoever.
