It's easy to say all this in hindsight. Overbooking and removing passengers from flights happen ALL THE TIME. It just never ended like this before, with all the camera phones rolling. You can't throw a deadheading crew on a Learjet every single time, that would cost a fortune. This was an unusual reaction from a long running standard practice. An article states the other 3 passengers deplaned without incident.
Sunday's event are going to make our jobs a lot harder. Especially for the flight attendants and gate agents.
So it sounds like requiring DHs to check in prior to boarding for a guaranteed seat combined with not boarding until all must-rides are taken care of would solve this?
