You've got guys above telling him to file an FSAP, where was your rage then? Really simple solution. Take your left earpiece off of your ear and if you still can't hear him ask him if he could quit mumbling and speak louder.

Actually, a few months ago I had a guy light up some kind of e-cigerette thing on a redeye. The entire time I see him holding it to his side. Every now and then a little blue light would appear under his cupped hand up by his face. I thought, are you kidding me...
But that's beside the fact. I, like you, thinks and knows, the Captain is the man. Unless he's going to fly you into the ground, you adapt to his style.
But it doesn't change the fact that the company makes us wear hearing protection for a couple minute walk around, but not for a 5 hr flight in the guppy. Seriuosly?
