I wear the molded earpiece(737). Have one made for both ears as I fly both seats. If I notice a captain or first officer I'm flying with start to pull one of the fancy headsets out of its fancy little bag, I ask if they have a rubber band (you bet your ass they do and it comes out of their bag in less than 2 seconds ). I use the intercom and all is good. I'm beginning to like it but I do go to overhead speaker at meal time for obvious reasons. No reason why those of us whom are too stubborn to shed our ear molds can't still wear it and use the inter phone so the other guy/gal doesn't have to pull one side off the ear. I want my flying partner to be happy and it doesn't bother me one bit.
