Not condoning it, but to the OP and anyone else bent out of shape about this- I suspect most of the people that are mad about guard shenanigans are people who are getting paid a fair wage to sit in their seat. Have a little forethought that, most likely, the people f ing around on guard are the people who are NOT being paid a fair wage to be doing the exact same thing you're doing for 1/3-1/4 the paycheck. Most likely regional pilots and ULCC pilots who are flying the exact same plane you're flying for 1/2 or 1/3 the pay that you're getting. Not saying it's professional or ok, but I can understand it. There are guys getting paid 36/hr to be an FO on a A321, that guy can do whatever the ******* he wants as long as it's safe, as far as I'm concerned. You're wasting your breath on this, go volunteer at ALPA to help get equal pay for your pilot brethren and the guard chatter would disappear on its own
