That's my rationale to be careful with what I fly on the side.
FAA Johnstone interpretation says that any flying done under part 91K or by a 119 certificate holder (aka 121, 135, 125) count against 117 limitations.

It does say that regardless of the activity, you must be fit for duty, obviously.
