The union nodded and winked then, just like they are now.

There were no seats to go back to for age 65, it required an excess bid to get them where the union and the company wanted them to go. If they had not done any excess bids, and had just done "normal" bids, that would have been more fair. The "bump and flush" was definitely not fair.

Right now, every 757 FO on the property is being denied the right to bid for wide body seats. Meanwhile, the company fills those same seats with new hires. What happened to the union's strong defense of the seniority system? The union should fight this tooth and nail. Every 757 FO should be getting passover pay even if one new hire is given a wide body right seat.

If the Union doesn't fix this, and immediately, the 757 FO's should be able to sue the union for failure to represent.

ALPA talks a good game, but doesn't always deliver.
