There is currently no shortage at good carriers...the regionals and several others without competitive contracts are seeing proof of a shortage.

Availability dates can certainly change, but with the current interview cycle to class date...and a commitment I have for military reserve training (non flying) I feel the 6 months is realistic. I doubt United would ask me to start groundschool on Monday....but you can bet I would make class!
