There is a difference in the way an American/pilot thinks compared to an East Indian/Accountant.
All is considered fair in the viewpoint of one of the parties. When you go to an airline as a Captain or an FO you have pretty much sealed your fait for a long time. You can't keep hoping from one airline to another and be taken seriously as a pilot.
Once you go to an airline such as Gojet they pretty much consider themselves as owning you and your future, until you make a clean get-a-way if you can. If they can get you to leave your current airline and go there based on a promise of being an instant captain it does not really matter to them if you pass. If you pass and become a captain, great, if you don't you become an FO even better because now you won't be going anywhere with a fail on your record. and they need you more as an FO.
It is a lot of work going to a new airline, learning their procedures and becoming a captain there. I did it but with 20k hours, 6 different planes in my past and 3 other companies, and 10 years teaching skills for training. I still worried even though I had developed a pretty structured system to follow. Don't change airlines for a quick upgrade unless you are prepared to learn on your own and know what you need to learn. Nobody who has done it will tell you it is easy.
