How's the ANG. I miss all y'all.
Yesterday I had our Dir. of Flt Ops (mgt type) on the jumpseat...at least until the jet broke. I picked his brain on hiring and some other issues. Here's the latest according to him.
Ops would like to hire more, but Finance says no. Probably no hiring for the next 18 months for the following reasons:
- Uncertainty about the overall economy
- Uncertainty about the age 65 debacle and its implications
- 3 man to 2 man cockpit conversions
He also thinks that the FAA bill will likely fail due to a veto. (Hiring forecasts would obviously be affected if this happens.) I can't recall all the reasons.
