Thank you so much for this explanation. I was reading the contract and saw that it is possible to build-up line in favor of LCR which I will obviously get. That being said, I really do need to fly. I'll deal with my 8 days of RSV. Still manged to squeeze 13 days off in May. You guys are obviously senior to me since I have never been able to hold a buildup line yet. I would be very interested if you post your experience in trying to swap, drop etc.
Reading through sec25-N4 here is what I see a buildup line holder can do.
- you can drop or swap a trip, but you can't drop more than 50% of the what you have.
- add a trip
- swap reserve days with days OFF
- trade reserve days with another buildup pilot or a reserve pilot
(This is in 25-FF-4)
So looks like the only way to avoid reserve days with a buildup line is during the. 2 days of SCP. Once they add them to your schedule, your stuck with them. Unless you beg Scheduling or become a PITA and they do what you ask to get rid of you, LOL
