The fleet is continuously being downsized. SKW gets more and more flying while L-XJT can't even keep flying. Despite their costs being lowered via concession in 2008. A while back an LOA was voted in that was going to let management get their known cost structure in order so they can "bid on and secure new flying". Ha ha, that was like 18 months and NOTHING. But hey, a nickle per diem and a buck fiddy an hour was a GREAT DEAL!!!!!

And this just in, there's some "big announcement" coming in May so I hear. Well, there's was some "big announcement" when management knew that morale was at all time lows. And it usually resulted in nothing, NOTHING.......

And to top it off, I also heard they're "revamping" the CPP to a new and improved process. WTH was wrong with the first one? Ya know, besides a bunch of great people not getting "accepted" and people that would never have been able to interview before being "accepted" and now on property. Pilots becoming disenchanted with the process and realizing it was a POS as a whole. BK being ticked off because he was told what to do with his little empire and who he'd interview, etc. Go figure.

When the CPP was announced last year it seemed like a good enough deal. And hey, it was BRILLIANT for reducing the sick call rate last summer and helped to keep XJT's performance up to par.

To date, the CPP really HASN'T BEEN overall that great. Again, the amount of good guys with good resumes and clean records that don't get "accepted" is a head scratcher. The guys that get walked out over the stupidest things during "red pen" is astounding.

They're probably announcing this new "enhanced" CPP because they know they screwed it up thus far. They know morale is at an all time low. They're afraid of a summer meltdown. Probably nothing more than another carrot dangle to keep the morale from plummeting even further.

I hope I'm wrong, REALLY REALLT WRONG. I hope a rabbit gets pulled out of a hat and something good (less crappy) happens to all my friends that are still there. Friends with plenty of experience and are great people. Friends that haven't been to enough job fairs and are busy being husbands/fathers commuting to 12 days off because they've been through so many base closures and don't have the time to volunteer at the soup kitchen, whatever.

And yet they STILL show up for work and are the upmost professionals. Despite working at an outsourced lift provider. Doing their best to put forth a good image for UCH, despite having to wait for a gate and go the penalty box because UAL can't manage UAX properly, despite having no rampers because it's been outsourced to AE/DGS and an AE plane/DelCon plane takes precedence, despite UAL cnx'ing their flight for flow control, what have you.....
Thank you, John- you hit the nail squarely on the head.
