Couple thing, some of those slugs ACTUALLY made it through the panel on the CPP.
And the 1500 hour pilot, well, many made it through the pre 9/11 panel of old which was way more technical/experienced based and not the TMAAT/targeted selection now. You can almost anybody through the scripted interview prep and get them through. There's been plenty of low time FO's that barely meet the mind hired. Way more I this hiring era than the 2007-2008 and pre 9/11 hiring.
Because as they say, "once you walk into the interview, experience doesn't matter any more.....".
Sadly, it's been proven over and over again.
