I do appreciate the company, it's just way too far behind the curve and it's going to catch up with them in the very near future.

New guys - collecting a paycheck for not flying in a pilot shortage is a red flag. I honestly wish you the best, but please plan on getting an email that you are no longer needed. You're 1 1/2 years from upgrading or leaving for
A regional because you have 1500 hrs. The company needs CAPTAINS. They are not attracting or retaining them. It is not sustainable. If you are new here or thinking of applying, please have a backup plan. Keep your CFI current, and don't change your life for the opportunity.
About 1/4th of every new hire class is direct entry captains. While that's only 3 every class, with the upgrades that are also good on I really don't see them having a long term problem.

The company has managed to do very well for itself for a very long time. No one at the company seems to be worried about its future, and to suggest that the company would spend millions yearly in training just to let new hires go before even getting on the line, or shortly thereafter, is a little bit preposterous in my opinion. I don't think they're that financially irresponsible.
