For years every airline had the same posted minimums and they are just that, minimums - a starting point. The difference between two carriers who don't require a degree is one is still attracting the higher qualified pilot and able to hire such individual while the other one is attracting the pilot who simply meets the minimums because the other carrier won't hire said pilot.

It doesn't matter what the minimums are when you attract the most qualified from all applicants.

Jetblue is not attracting the highest qualified for a variety of reasons to include job is not viewed as a career(read compensation and benefits) or the targeted hiring is not aimed at the most qualified but rather those who are unable to leave in short order.
