He was crazy the entire time I was there. He could be completely manic on one side of an issue and then take the opposite view a day later. I sure hope no one actually listened to his balloons and ponies rants. I would have lost almost ten percent of the pilot group at SWA below me already. Those at other carriers over a thousand pilots. The truth is no one knows what the next downturn will bring, we can only make our best guess and follow what we believe is best for us and our families. I wish nothing but the best for my friends who decide to stay at NJ. I doubt he can say and mean the same for those who leave.
Lol I almost forgot about the balloons and ponies rant. Nobody wanting to leave listens to that nonsense. For those that stay at NetJets, awesome, its a good job. For those wanting to leave, it is because they have done the research for themselves and made their own decision. He gets mad at anyone who doesn't think/believe exactly how he does. He is also mad at how good the airline industry was and how it was not like that when he had his career ahead of him, and I get that, but it doesn't excuse the complete dismissal of reality.
Pretty moot right now unfortunately as they aren't hiring, and probably will not hire for the rest of the year which is a bummer for anyone looking to get on with NJA.
