Definitely fear-based. You have to make a judgement based on what you now
now not what
might happen. The industry could be wiped out by pandemic, the world could be wiped out by an asteroid. But what are the odds?
I'd go with career earnings and variety of flying (ie: legacy.)
And as someone else pointed out, legacies have deeper pockets and a better survival rate than LCC's.
