I got hired for the April 18th class... The sim prep is invaulable, I went through Higher Power Aviation (the should pay me for a shameless plug).
They have the gouge down to exactly what to pitch to and what power settings to use and it works like a champ. The profile itself is pretty basic but I think what they are really looking for is the ability to "walk and chew gum". Meaning flying an unfamilar cockpit (especially when flying a glass airplane) while calling for check lists, getting configured, briefing and planning out a hold.
As for the actual sim ride.
The guys that ran the sim very very personable and helpful before hand. KD sits down with you before hand as kind of a "last interview" just informal chit chat but I am sure that he is making a decision during the conversation.
They give you the profile and then a 1/2 hour to study it, but they will not fly during the eval (like handing over controls to figure out the hold).
They really don't give you standards at which you are evaluated on, I stayed within ATP standards during the ride so I guess it worked. It may be on a sliding scale I.E. if you have a bunch of MD-80 time they might be harder on you than an guy who has been flying an RJ around.
Just my input-- PM me if you need any advice for the sim-interview
