The second is when a bunch of pilots at an airline tell everyone considering working for that airline how horrible it is, but then remain employed at that airline. It's like you guys are purposely telling new hires to stay away to use it as a bargaining chip with the company. If it is so bad, why don't you quit? Every airline is hiring. It's clearly not that bad if you are ONLY waiting for United, American, or Delta. Why not go to Southwest, JetBlue, Alaska, Virgin, Allegiant, Frontier, Atlas, any regional.

Warren Buffet is famous for saying "holding a stock is the same as making the decision to buy that stock at that price." Staying at Spirit is the same as making the decision to be hired there today. If it's that bad, leave, and go anywhere else (including another regional). But clearly it's not that bad, since all of you are staying, so why do you tell all these regional pilots to not come to Spirit???

Bottom line: If you are considering Spirit, remember that it is not so bad that all these people giving you advice are still working there! It can't be that bad. Do what is right for you and your career, and don't play along to help be a bargaining chip for an airline's pilot group that you don't even work for.
