I'd rather be leery and realistic than naive. That doesn't make me a pessimist.
Your analysis is superficial. You are only seeing what you choose to see. There is more out there. In the last 5 weeks we have hired 120 new hires. Despite parking the 747s, we still have a ton of planes coming and they've already said they are holding back on bids until they see where the displaced pilots are going. We retire 6,000 pilots in the next 12 years. Even if we shrank the airline at 3% per year, we couldn't furlough because we are losing pilots faster than that.
I don't get the negativity. This is the best I've ever seen it at any airline.
