It was the standard deal where a guy senior to me wanted to trade training dates with a guy junior to me.
I offered a 3 way trade where I would move into the senior guys slot (I wanted the earlier training date, it was an upgrade with a significant pay raise) and the guy junior to me could move into my slot allowing the senior guy the junior slot that they originally proposed.
They both rejected the idea and called me all sort of names. I was OK with that. What's wrong with trying to move up my training date instead of allowing someone junior to me to get my pay raise?
After having had years to think about my decision, I think I'd do it again with slightly "softer" verbage ...
