I used to fly at a ULCC for some of the lowest wages in the industry. Fifteen years later, I now fly for an airline in the top 5 for pay.
The fact pertinent to the Spirit pilots is that I still work for the same company. I thank my union for working hard to improve our pay scales over several negotiations. I blame the company for dragging their feet to save money while ruining the work environment.
Hopefully the Spirit pilots will feel the same 10 years from now. The TRO is temporary, the Spirit management is feeling the heat, just a matter of continuing to apply just enough pressure.
