While seniority should obviously count, there should be some minimum cutoff, at least for international travel, where listing/check in carries at least some weight. .
Yes. My family and I have been hosed by people listing 2 hours prior with
their families. I could see if it's an IROP and I understand it's perfectly legal. But the typical family makes vacation plans months ahead of time (if not longer.) Not very nice.
