Actually, you would have had a lot more credibility had you come on here three Saturdays ago and said something like, "Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up. I really thought there was going to be a big announcement yesterday, but looks like it will be sometime in the near future."
But instead, you go silent, waiting in the dark for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, so you could jump out of the bushes, pointing fingers and screaming "I TOLD YOU SO!"
A bit of humility would serve you well. Be careful dropping bombs and throwing hand granades at others for citing their disdain for you letting down their expectations.
