But summer 2011-2012, for ORD at least, if you called scheduling and told them you couldn't make it, they'd PS you.

Which was funny, all the mainline employees on BP8 passes aren't gonna make it, and the RJ trash is now getting PS'd to work. Al beit, that was a long time ago, and I'm sure UAL was charging XJT a premium for that.
