Actaully, I bet UA doesn't have any way to differentiate the type of DHs that UAX does and so UAX reports them all as UA paid. So, they have no issue whatsoever with giving a commuter positive space. As soon as this had an actual cost to the UAX carrier it would stop!!!!
I met a Skywest pilot deadheading PS on a UAL mainline flight from MSP to ORD last month to cover an express flight for American. How in the hell does Skywest get away with that?
