We also fly into a lot of airports where we hear, "cleared for the visual" 20 miles out flying in from the opposite direction. It's not like we're out flying sorties, but the amount of freedom we have to maneuver around probably isn't the same as flying into all "big" airports with STAR's where you get cleared for the visual on a 30 degree intercept all day, every day.
I said I wouldn't get involved in this silly discussion about airplanes. QOL is number one, and what you fly is about the number 78 most important thing about the job.
