Part 141 flight schools have more FAA oversight, have lower hour requirements (if you can get done at absolute minimums), tend to cost more, are less flexible and qualify for VA funding.

Part 61 is just basic flight instruction given by any CFI. Costs less, the quality totally depends on the CFI, and you can't use the GI bill to fund.

I have no idea if there's any real preference on one verses the other.

I've rented out of Apopka and the First Landings folks are busy. They do fly LSA and regular aircraft. I rent from Van Anda Aviation. They have planes based out of several different airports. They have a list of approved instructors. No multi or complex planes, so you'd have to go go with someone else. There are several flying clubs based out of ORL and SFB. They have instructors that can give instruction.

There's always Aerosim in Sanford if you want a more formal program.
