Save your leave. I'm sure with the number of deployments many people are doing, leave is building up. Try not to take it for personal reasons. Tell your family to deal with it, but save the leave for job fairs and terminal leave. Training pay at most airlines is dismal. You may need that O-4 pay to make ends meet while in training and during your first year. If you work far enough ahead, and things work out for you, you may be able to coordinate a training start date on or about the day you go on terminal leave. I was fortunate it worked out for me that way, but I also planned it out as much as I could so that if I got lucky with a start date my part of the equation would be taken care of. I had the leave, I scheduled the separation date, I got the class date I wanted. The advantage to taking terminal vice selling it back is the BAH and flight pay you still get. Good luck to everyone.
