Before opening the door, drop the brake and then reset it. Then open the door with the brake still set.
I think it looks at the last time the parking brake was applied before the door opening. So if you reset it you should get all your time. Not 100% sure this is how it works, but it seems to have done the trick for me.
I'll try it. Thought I did that yesterday but came up 7 short. The block in time matched the time the cargo door opened.
