Not wanting PIC time is said somewhat tongue-in-cheek because then it would make you less attractive to other carriers, which is one of the very few ways Jetblue retains people these days.
Don't buy into the over the top negativity on the internet. Upgrade where you're at and keep putting in apps everywhere you want to work.

You never know exactly what they want. But they always seem to like a mix. Attrition has not been as bad as some make it seem and most of the guys get hired with pic. Heck if you listen to the internet you will get an interview because everyone else wants to go to the real airlines

Upgrade get your PIC and enjoy the learning experience that comes with it.
Apply to JetBlue if that's where you want to be and network network network.
