You only need to log sim time if you need the time for the ATP certificate. The guys in class that didn't need the time didn't bother logging it. All records are tracked in our circa 1963 computer system that powers the world's biggest airline and many others. You just need to prove to the feds you meet the recency of experience whatever medium it is on is irrelevant. Toilet paper for all it matters as long as required info is there.

On aside old DOM was told by our FAA maint inspector he needed a resume so he wrote it out on toilet paper and handed it to him. And then told him to be sure and put it to good use. The DOM and PMI never got along well.
