I had to have 20 make and model to satisfy insurance reqs. at the FBO I work for. The MEI is valuable whether you use it or not. But a lot of times since its not needed to get hired by an airline, its hard to justify getting the add-on.

I was not planning on getting my MEI until I noticed the flight school I am now working for had no regular MEIs, decided to get my MEI with the school right away and its been paying off.
