Ever think about a credit card that offers hotel points? SPG is the best right now. If you're not an AmEx fan, you can get a Marriott visa and transfer the points to stay at SPG hotels or stay at Marriotts.
As for me, I prefer to stay anywhere west of I-405. Call me paranoid, but I like the feeling of being able to walk around Century Blvd without people looking to up their socioeconomic status by using me as an piņata/ATM.
