And yeah, I'm not the type to do something just because everyone else is doing it. I have zero respect for people who just do whatever the majority do just to be a follower. Even worse, I have contempt for those non-members who don't support ALPA, and yet don't have the backbone to stand by their decision, yet decide to wear the lanyard to "fit in."
I may decide to wear the lanyard someday, but the more people push, the less likely it is. I said as much in my last ALPA survey, and I've told the MEC the same thing in person.
Your not wearing your lanyard because people are "pushing" you is nothing more than an excuse not to wear it.
You either support your fellow pilots or you do not. It's obvious which camp you're in, despite your claims otherwise. Actions speak much louder than words.
