Because I kept a reliable car in MEM I would periodically stay at the Navy Base in Millington. In the old days it was really cheap, I think they have since passed a law saying they are required to charge the prevailing hotel rates?

Before they moved the Naval Personnel Command there (10 years ago?) you could almost always count on getting a room except on Reserve Drill Weekends. I stayed there for a couple of months during Indoc and Initial Training.

It was approximately a 30 minute drive but it was clean and safe, had a mini fridge and a microwave. It had a car wash and a golf course. It would be worth a phone call to see if it's available.
